Capt. James Dellamonica says the blaze has consumed more than 2,000 acres, or about 3.1 square miles, since it was first reported Thursday afternoon. The blaze had no containment.
Besides homes, Dellamonica says the wildfire is threatening high-power transmission lines that run through the area.
He says the transmission lines are making the task of fighting the blaze more difficult because of the threat to firefighting aircraft, as well as fire crews on the ground.
